My background began in Physiotherapy, which has been extremely rewarding. It has enabled me to work with both Children and adults in a variety of clinical settings within the NHS and the charitable sector.
With over 15 years of experience in Physiotherapy, I have gained invaluable skills which I find compliments and enhances my current alternative practice. I currently specialise in working with those affected by brain injury at Headway East London.
Although originally having taken more of a traditional approach to health, I have always held an interest and passion for alternative health and healing, connecting mind, body and spirit.
After taking a short career break to travel, I found myself drawn to the powerful healing practice of Craniosacral Therapy. I graduated from the College of Craniosacral Therapy in London, where I now also work as a senior tutor.
Through my own process of self discovery, I came across the Metamorphic Technique, which I have found to have been a catalyst in my own transformation and development. I studied this technique with Dominique Mallee Meeroff in London where I gained practitionership.
My interest in the body and movement stem from an early age through dance, which maintains to be a major part of my life. Through this interest, I was naturally drawn to body/movement practices as a way to health, leading me to study Pilates. I find this to be an effective way of helping people maintain a healthy connection between mind and body.
I also have a regular personal movement meditation practice, based on the 5 Rhythms / Movement Medicine and yoga.
I am committed to on-going self development, and regularly undertake post graduate courses to maintain high standards of practice. Areas I have undergone further training in include: Embryology, Specialist treatment of mothers and babies, Shamanism, trauma work, somatic experiencing, formative psychology process skills …to name a few.
I also hold a certificate in the Foundations of Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy – a 1 year training at CCPE in London. This has enriched the way I work by being able to integrate valuable counselling, verbal and listening skills into my practice.
I am also an accredited supervisor for the CSTA. I offer supervision for practitioners of craniosacral therapy.
I am registered and insured by the CSTA and CSP, and therefore adhere to strict codes of conduct. I also hold a certificate in First Aid.
